Venue

casa cody palm springs ca.

We will be exchanging vows and celebrating our new marriage at the Casa Cody Inn in downtown Palm Springs on 12-13-14. It will be an outdoor ceremony and reception.

The ceremony and reception will take place at The Winter’s House, a 1930s-era adobe home at the northern edge of the property. From the main entrance, follow the signs to the yard and make yourselves at home.

A little about Casa Cody:

Casa Cody is an old Spanish-style adobe hacienda and the oldest operating inn in Palm Springs. It was founded by Harriet Cody, a pioneer of Palm Springs village and cousin of famous cowboy turned showman Buffalo Bill Cody. Charlie Chaplin is said to have stayed at the Adobe House, located in the middle of the property. General Patton stayed here in the early 1940s while training troops in the nearby desert. The hotel is not luxurious by any means, but it’s loaded with history and charm.

Parking

Street parking is available, but limited. Carpooling is encouraged, whenever possible. There is a commercial parking lot located a half-block east of Casa Cody that may have parking available. Please be mindful of parking restrictions. There are a number of tow-away zones in this part of town.

Weather

Average high temperatures in Palm Springs in December are in the 60s. Temperatures dip down to the 40s after sunset. Packing a sweater or coat is probably a good idea.

The ceremony will proceed, rain or shine. We will do our best to warn out-of-town guests if rain or wind is on the forecast. We will also do our best to keep you warm and dry if the day is chilly or rainy. If conditions outside are unbearable, we will crowd into one of the rooms and have you huddle around us as we exchange vows. 🙂

Dress

We will be dressing up (it’s our wedding day, after all), but there’s no strict dress code at this casual venue. We recommend semi-formal and dressing for warmth, but wear whatever makes you feel happy and comfortable.

Kids

This is a kid-friendly event. Both our families have been blessed with many new arrivals this year, so we will designate a baby-changing area in one of the rooms, in case you are traveling with little ones.
